Since its establishment in 1989, Kson Optics-Electronics Co., Ltd. has been deeply rooted in China, dedicated to the research and development and manufacturing of optical optical-mechanical-electroical products. After thirty-five years of technological accumulation and experience, we have acquired many patents in China and in the United States, committed to providing the global users with exceptional visual experiences.

Development History

1989

KSON was born in Guangzhou, China. Its name came from its founder, whose name is pronounced Kai, which means openness. In both Cantonese and Mandarin, KSON represents openness and trust, which appeared to be its destined glorious beginning.

The story began here in 1989, KSON started riflescope for airguns which was its first product.
1991
KSON made its history by becoming the first company in China manufacturing red dot sights for airgun use. Red dot sights are now one of the main stream categories for self-defense, shooting and hunting industry as well as astronomical telescopes.
1993
In 1993, KSON developed its first telescope, the telescopes have been KSON’s main products till now and in the future.
1996
In 1996, KSON made a pioneering move by using red dot sight as a finderscope instead of a traditional telescope’s crosshair viewfinder for the first time in China. By now red dot finder is a standard configuration for telescopes use.
2000
In 2000, KSON invented video telescope equipped with a CMOS sensor camera and a display in the industry for commercial use, allowing people to see images through the eyepiece and the screen.
2003
Year of 2003 was a bumper year for KSON, telescope sales reached 100,000+ units, On the HSN TV shopping channel in the United States, the KTE1000102FS (120mm reflector) telescope (Galileo brand) sold more than 12,000 units in one hour, which was a sales carnival.
2004
KSON had its busiest year in 2004, produced 900,000 red dot sights and 850,000 rifle scopes. These figures were the best proof of KSON’s ability and production capacity.
2006
In 2006, KSON started a new journey and moved its Guangzhou factory to Foshan. In the same year, KDB1100135 Dobsonian telescope sold more than 3,000 units in the United States.
2008
In 2008, KSON diversified its business and began to produce bipods for the hunting and shooting market. In same year KSON developed computerized GOTO telescopes and ED telescopes.
2011 - 2013
From 2011 to 2013, with 20 years of patents, technology and experience in the optical industry, KSON developed long-distance high-intensity brightness adjustable LED searchlights for fire rescue and police departments, contributing to the field of security.
2017
In 2017, KSON designed and made a new red dot sight using a 30um LED chip which can last 50,000 hours without replacement a CR2032 battery and can withstand 5000G of recoil.
2021 - 2022
2021-2022 was a fruitful year for KSON, with huge orders for various products. KSON designed and manufactured the KM-EQ4 German equatorial mount, and developed refractor telescopes like F750x150 and F1200x127.
2023
In 2023, KSON's developed APO 102 telescope with star tests and diffraction rings showing perfect pattern like showing in textbook. KSON’s KM-EQ2 German equatorial mount with readymade azimuth micro-adjustment and Polarscope was made and started mass production.
2025

KSON is continuing its legend in 2025 and in the future.
